Holiday Home Tour
Welcome to the ‘Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland’ holiday home tour blog hop! Whew. That was a mouthful! I hope you’ve had a chance to check out the decked out homes of my fellow blogger babes who shared their tours earlier this week, but fear not, my festive-loving friends, for there’s plenty more inspo coming your way today! Grab some spiked cocoa and let’s get our Christmas cheer on!
Hopping from home to home and seeing how everyone decorates has been so much fun this week, and I hope you enjoyed Andrea’s tour today! Her minimal approach to design really hits me in the happy places, because my vibe this year has been all about keeping things simple!
I wanted less decor that screams “Christmas” and instead opted to incorporate elements that felt more wintry – cozy textures, twinkle lights, seasonal greens, etc. Our basement could use the extra “cozy” as it is, because, well, it’s a basement. So I pulled out all my fuzziest, softest throws and faux fur pillows to warm up the space.
Started from the bottom now we here…. movin’ on upstairs, welcome to our dining room! I wanted a tablescape that would bring me from Thanksgiving to Christmas, and this simple set up did just the trick! We hosted Thanksgiving with this look and I won’t be changing a thing when we host Christmas Eve in just a few weeks. Adding the twinkle lights to the garland also jazzes up our table when we eat every night in between the big holidays, which makes me enjoy this design even more!
Moving on to our main living space – this is where I added the most festive of my holiday decor (helloooo, Christmas tree!) If you haven’t noticed by now, I wasn’t kidding when I said I loved incorporating seasonal greens into my home, and this space is no exception – except it’s the only spot that actually has *gasp* REAL greens! That’s right, folks, we opt for a real tree and this year was my first time trying out a real garland too! Between the smell of fresh pine, the twinkling lights, cozy fire and candles all aglow, this space makes for the perfect place to crash at the end of the day with some vino and Bravo!
That’s it from me! Hope you enjoyed this peek into our holiday home! Now make sure you re-fill your bevvy and head on over to Jenny’s blog to check out her designs!
